The Harvard-Thorndike

Clinical Research Center

at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center

The Harvard - Thorndike Clinical Research Center is funded by the NIH National Center for Research Resources to provide clinical scientists the resources necessary to conduct patient-oriented research. The primary purpose of the CRC is to provide the clinical research infrastructure to investigators who receive their primary research funding from other components of the NIH. The Center may host investigators funded by other federal, state, and local agencies, as well as those funded by the private sector. The CRC also serves as an institutional resource for investigators to perform pilot studies which may result in subsequent agency funding.

The primary goals of the Harvard - Thorndike Clinical Research Center are:

  • To provide an environment for studies of normal and abnormal body function and for investigations of the cause, progression, prevention, control, and cure of human disease.

  • To provide an optimal setting for controlled clinical investigations by scientists supported through the Public Health Service or other sources.

  • To encourage, develop and maintain a corps of expert clinical investigators.

  • To serve as an environment for training other health professionals in clinical research and to provide resources in which advances in basic scientific knowledge may be translated into new or improved methods for patient care.

The CRC is located on the
8th Floor - Feldberg and Gryzmish Buildings
    East Campus
    330 Brookline Avenue GZ-800
    Boston, MA 02215
