Getting to the Medical Center by Car
Follow the
directions below to reach the medical center's East Campus on Brookline
Avenue and its West Campus Clinical Center located right off Joslin Place. |
| From the
north
(Interstate 95/Route 1): Cross
the Tobin Bridge going south and follow elevated loop around onto Expressway
south. Take first exit onto Storrow Drive westbound and follow to Fenway
(Route 1 South) exit. Bear right onto Boylston Street (outbound), pass two
sets of lights, and proceed to intersection of Brookline Avenue (.6 miles).
Turn left onto Brookline Avenue. Continue .4 miles to East Campus on your
left and .6 miles to West Campus on your right.

north
(Interstate 93): Continue south
on 93 to Boston and Storrow Drive. Take Fenway (Route 1 South) exit. Bear
right onto Boylston Street (outbound), pass two sets of lights, and proceed
to intersection of Brookline Avenue (.6 miles). Turn left onto Brookline
Avenue. Continue .4 miles to East Campus on your left and .6 miles to West

the northwest
(Route
2): Follow Route 2 east toward Boston to Fresh Pond Parkway.
Cross the Charles River onto Soldiers Field Road, which becomes Storrow
Drive east. Take the Fenway (Route 1 South) exit. Bear right onto Boylston
Street (outbound), pass two sets of lights, and proceed to intersection of
Brookline Avenue (.6 miles). Turn left onto Brookline Avenue. Continue .4
miles to East Campus on your left and .6 miles to West Campus on your right.Top

west (Route 9):
Heading east on the Massachusetts Turnpike, take Route 128 south (exit 14)
to Route 9 east (exit 20A). Follow Route 9 to the intersection of Brookline
Avenue in Brookline Village (Brook House will be on right). Turn left onto
Brookline Avenue and pass three sets of lights. West Campus will be on your
left at the fourth set of lights. Proceed through next set of lights
(intersection of Longwood Avenue) and East Campus will be on your right.

South Shore
(Route
3): Follow the Southeast Expressway north to Storrow Drive
exit. Go west on Storrow Drive to the Fenway (Route 1 South) exit. Bear right
onto Boylston Street (outbound), pass two sets of lights, and proceed to
intersection of Brookline Avenue (.6 miles). Turn left onto Brookline
Avenue. Continue .4 miles to East Campus on your left and .6 miles to West

south
(Route 24 and Interstate 95):
Follow Route 128 South to Route 3 exit to Southeast Expressway north to
Storrow Drive exit. Follow Storrow Drive to the Fenway (Route 1 South) exit.
Bear right onto Boylston Street (outbound), pass two sets of lights, and
proceed to intersection of Brookline Avenue (.6 miles). Turn left onto
Brookline Avenue. Continue .4 miles to East Campus on your left and .6 miles
to West Campus on your right.

Public Transportation
There are a
number of public transportation options for patients and visitors coming to
the Longwood Medical Area. For more information, call the MBTA at
617-222-3200 or visit their website at
www.mbta.com.
The main bus
numbers are: 8, 8A, 47, CT2, and CT3, which all stop at the BIDMC East
Campus Main Entrance.
BI-Deaconess also is a short walk from the MBTA Green Line, "D-Train",
Longwood stop. From the Longwood stop on the "D" Line, turn left
towards Longwood Avenue, which is the first street you will come to.
Turn left onto Longwood Avenue. Follow Longwood Avenue to where it
intersects Brookline Avenue. Turn left. The main entrance to the
east campus will be on your right at 330 Brookline Avenue.
